Tropical & Exotic Fruits Calories

Calories Exotic, Tropical Fruits

All fruits are mostly made of carbohydrates, although calories in fruit can also come from fats and small amounts of protein. Fruits are all said to have good nutritional value since they contain a lot of vitamins and minerals yet are low-calorie. Prickly pear, which is harvested from a cactus of the same name, are high in magnesium and vitamin C. However, the exact benefits of each tropical and exotic fruit can vary quite a bit. Plantains, although they look a lot like bananas, have a lot more vitamin A and offer more potassium than their yellow counterpart. Some tropical fruits like guava, kiwi, and mango provide a significant amount of healthy fiber, and others like avocados contain healthy omega-3 fatty acids. It’s important to recognize that the high-fat fruits have greater calorie density since a gram of fat has over double the calories of a gram of protein or carbohydrate. Since fresh fruits are not sold with nutrition facts, the calorie chart below will help you decide which tropical and exotic fruits fit best into your healthy eating plan.
